According to the Mille Lacs County Sheriff’s Office, a northbound semi-truck crossed into the southbound lane, directly into the path of the school bus. Dashcam footage released by the sheriff’s office shows the bus driver making a swift maneuver to avoid a collision, steering the bus to safety just in time.
Sheriff Kyle Burton praised the driver’s actions, stating that they “undoubtedly saved many lives.” The bus was carrying dozens of students at the time, and no injuries were reported.
